while walking a person stepped upon a pointed pebble . with the help of a well labelled diagram explain his response .
When a person steps upon a pointed pebble, he immediately removes his feet as he feels a sharp pricking pain under his feet. This happens due to reflex action. The nerve receptors present under the feet become active when the person steps on the pebble. The receptor sends impulse that is transported by the neurons to the spinal cord. The reflex action sends message via motor nerves to remove the feet. The nerves carry that impulse to the sense receptors present inside the skin under the feet. As a result the person moves his feet away from the pebble. This to and fro movement of impulses happens within a blink of our eyes.
