Question

why are viruses not included in the five kingdom classification?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

As viruses do not have a proper defined cellular structure, they are called acellular organisms and five-kingdom classification starts with unicellular prokaryotes and eukaryotes, they could not be included in either of them. Also, they are neither considered plants nor animals, so they are not placed in either of the group.
