why did aurangzeb kill all his brothers for the throne as he could have locked them in prison?

Aurangzeb killed all his brothers because:

a. Since all his brothers were a challenge to his ascendency to the throne.
b. He wanted to eliminate all of his opponents and did not want to take any risk for the future.
c. Aurangzeb also never favoured partition of the empire between his brothers and himself.
d. He also accused his brother Dara Shikoh of being non muslim , and got him executed.
e. Keeping them in the prison , would have still created panic and doubt in Aurangzeb's mind as he would have lived under the fear of suspicion and a possible rebellion by any of his brothers.
