Question

why didnot the stone and feather fall simultaneously in the presence of air?

Open in App
Solution

Dear user

Ideally, both stone and feather should fall simultaneously. But, if air is present, it will exert a force of friction on both.

Now, feather being very light is carried away by this frictional force, and thus falls much slower than the stone.

Best wishes!!
