Pseudopodia are temporary cytoplasmic extrusions which function in locomotion and in feeding by engulfing food. One or more pseudopodia may be formed at a time by a given cell. Pseudopodia are present in lower organisms (like amoeba). Ingestion (taking food) by pseudopodia is called phagocytosis. Amoeboid movement found in amoeba which moves by producing pseudopodia.
