Question

Why do onlly plant cells have cell walls and not the animal cells?

Open in App
Solution

Plant do not have any exoskeleton or endoskeleton like animals, therefore for strength, structure shape and support plants need cell walls made of cellulose. The hard cell walls also provide extra protection to the plant cells from bacterial and fungal infections that exoskeleton like, scales, feathers, hairs etc. does for animals.
