Why dothe red blood cells of the human body do not have a nucleus ?

RBCs are designed in such a way that they have to carry oxygen in the bound form with hemoglobin. Nucleus occupies adequate space in the cell. So, RBCs do not have nucleus because they can accommodate more hemoglobin to carry oxygen.
