Question

WHY HYDROGEN IS NOT SOLUBLE IN WATER?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student!

The hydrogen gas is a neutral covalent molecule which has no certain dipole moment and so it generally behaves as a non polar molecule and so it is not easily soluble in polar water. However sometimes it gets weakly soluble due to the moderately high polarizibility.
