Why is bacteria considerded as an organism between plants and animals?

Bacteria is a prokaryotic cell whereas plants and animals are eukaryotic. Bacterial cell lack nucleus, mitochondria and chloroplast that is present in a eukaryotic cell. It is a separate domain, it does not come in between plants and animals.
