Why is it said to plant more and more trees to control noise pollution ?
If trees are grown in a row without leaving too much space in between, they form a shield and reduce the intensity of sound waves to pass through. The leaves of the trees act as barrier that does not allow waves to penetrate. The sound produced by the wind while passing through the leaves, actually restrict the noises to pass through. It has been scientifically proved that the walls of trees can reduce noise by almost 5 to 10 decibels.
