why is the tungsten filament used in bulb is thermally isolated as much as possible using insulating agents?
The region inside the glass chamber of an electric bulb is kept a vacuum or filled with an inert gas (like argon). This is because the temperature reached inside the chamber, due to the heating effect of electric current reach high levels, enough to combust reactive gases like oxygen and nitrogen. The glass chamber basically protects the filament of the chamber with the outside.
