Question

Why no one other than a peron with blood group AB can receive blood from a person of any blood group??

Open in App
Solution

Person with AB blood group has components of both A and B blood group so they can receive blood from person with any blood group (A,B or O) as their body would not treat other blood groups as foreign and hence would not attack it. A person with A, B or O blood group does not have all the components of both A and B blood group, if a person with A blood group is given blood group B then its body would consider it a foreign and would start attacking it. Person with blood group O has blood components that are common in all the blood groups so they can donate blood to any type. We can conclude that AB blood group can receive blood from any blood group and O blood group can be given to any type.
