why some minerals in plants are required in large quantities and some in smaller quantities?

It actually depends on the need of the plant, some minerals play a very important role like nitrogen is a part of amino acid and phosphorous is a part of protein, so these minerals are required in larger quantity where as some minerals like manganese are required in smaller quantity because there role is limited.
