(i). A nutrient is a substance present in food that an organism needs to live and grow and obtained from environment. The five important nutrients that are body needs are carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals and vitamins.
(ii) Holozoic mode of nutrition: The mode of nutrition in which food is taken in solid/liquid form from outside and is digested inside their body, this mode of nutrition is known as holozoic mode of nutrition. Humans exhibit such nutrition.
(iii) Insectivorous plants are the plants that trap insects and digest them to obtain nutrients like nitrogen.
