Write the electronic arragment in alluminium, How many neutron does an atom of an element contain At. mass=27,At. mass=23

Open in App
Solution

The atomic number of aluminium is 13, which means the number of electron is a neutral atom of Al is 13. Therefore the eletronic configuration of Al is 2, 8, 3.
1. Element with atomic mass 27 is Al.
As the number of protons and electron in Al is 13, therefore the number of neutron = 27 - 13
= 14
2. Element woth atomic mass 23 is sodium i.e. Na.
As the atomic number of Na is 11, therefore number of neutron in sodium = 23 -11 .
Hence the nuber of neutrons in sodium atoms is equal to 12.
