Write the skeletal equation for the following reactions :

(i) Hydrogen sulphide reacts with sulphur dioxide to form sulphur and
water.
(ii) Methane on burning combines with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide

The skeletal equations for the said reactions are as follows

(i) H2S + SO2 →S + H2O

The balanced for of the above equation is

2H2S + SO2 → 3S + 2H2O

(ii) CH4 + O2 → CO2 + H2O

The balanced for of the above equation is

CH4 + 2O2 → CO2 + 2H2O
