Question

Parikshit makes a cuboid of plasticine of sides 5 cm ,2 cm and 5 cm .How many such cuboids will he need to form a cube?

Open in App
Solution

Sides of cuboid of plasticine are 5 cm ,2 cm and 5 cm.

So, Volume of a cuboid platicine = length x breadth x height = 5 x 2 x 5 = 50 cm3

Length of cube will depend upon the LCM of the sides of cuboid.

So LCM of 5, 2 and 5 = 10

Therefore each side of the cube will be 10 cm and

the volume of the cube = (side of cube)3 = 103 = 1000 cm3

Hence, the required number of cuboids = Volume of cube / Volume of a cuboid

= 1000 / 50 = 20 Ans.
