The correct option is A Rs. 4 lakhs
Expenditure of Company A in 2013 = Expenditure of Company B in 2013 = X
Income of company A in 2013 I1= X×1.4=1.4X
Income of company B in 2013 I2 = X×1.45
= 1.45X
I1+I2 = 1.4X +1.45X = 5.7
X =5.72.85 = 2
Total expenditure = 4 lakhs
