Solution
The correct option is C A, B, AB
Human blood group inheritance is the example of co-dominance and multiple alleles. It is governed by three alleles namely IA, IB and IO. IA and IB show co-dominance while allele IO is recessive to both IA and IB. Genotype of a person with 'A' blood group can be IAIO or IAIA and that of parent with 'AB' blood group is IAIB. The alleles IA, IO and IB can make three genotypic combinations, namely IAIA (blood group A), IAIO(blood group A), IAIB(blood group AB) and IBIO(blood group B). Thus, the possible blood group of their children are A, B and AB. To have a child with O blood group, both parent should have at least one IO allele; thus they can’t have a child with O blood group.
