Pramod bought 50 bunches of methi greens for 200. In a sudden downpour, 10 of the bunches on his handcart got spoilt. He sold the rest at the rate of 5 each. Did he make a profit or a loss? How much?

Cost price of 50 bunches of methi greens =200
Number of bunches of methi greens spoilt =10
Number of bunches left =5010
=40
[0.5 Marks]
Selling price of 1 bunch of methi greens =6
So, selling price of 70 bunches of methi greens =6×40 =240
[0.5 Marks]
Since, the selling price is greater than cost price, so, there is a profit.
Profit = Selling price − Cost price
=240200
=40
Hence, Pramod suffered a Profit of 40 in this transaction.
