Presence of sunken stomata in xerophytic plants. Give reason

Dear student,

Xerophytes are the plants which are adapted to hot and dry (arid) environment. They can tolerate and survive extreme conditions like that of deserts, by conserving and storing large amounts of water. In such plants the​ Stomata are sunken in the pits of epidermis and are less in number tis prevent the loss of water.
