Present age of father is 42years and that of his son is 14years. Find the ratio of age of father to the age of son when father was 30years old.

We have,

When father was 42years old, son's age=14years

When father was 41years old, son's age=13years

When father was 40years old, son's age=12years

When father was 30years old, son's age=12-10=2years

Ratioofageoffathertotheageofson=AgeoffatherAgeofson=302=30÷22÷2=151=15:1

Hence, required ratio is 15:1
