Probability of solving specific problem independently by AandBare12and13 respectively. If both try to solve problem independently, find the probability.

Open in App
Solution

P(A)=1/2 P(B)=1/3
P(AUB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(AB)
Since A and B are independent P(AB)=P(A)*P(B)=1/6
Therefore P(AUB)=1/2+1/3-1/6=2/3
