Production of wheat is 2 1/4 times that of rice, but the cost of rice is 1 1/4 that of wheat. If a farmer produces wheat in place of rice than what is his income in terms of previous income.

Let wheat be W

and the rice be R

According to condition ( for production )

W = 2 1/ 4 R

W = 9/ 4 R

And for Cost

R= 1 1 / 4 W

R = 5/ 4 W

So we will will set up like that

Ratio of production 9 : 4

Ratio of cost 4 : 5

Ratio of income 36 : 20

Therefore , required ratio = 36/ 20

= 9 / 5 = > 1 4 / 5 times Answer
