Prove that Pancreas is an endocrine as well as exocrine gland.

Pancreas act as an endocrine as well as an exocrine gland. It is considered as a mixed gland.
Exocrine part of pancreas secretes digestive enzymes while, its endocrine part (islets of Langerhans) produce two hormones, i.e. insulin and glucagon. Only one per cent of the weight of the pancreas serves as an endocrine gland. The remaining 99 per cent of the gland has exocrine functions.
