Q. AB is a vertical pole fixed to the ground, with A being the point where the base of the pole touches the ground. Due to a cyclone, the pole has been broken at C which is at a height of 24 meters from the ground. The broken part is partially attached to the pole at C. If the end of the broken part B touches the ground at D which is at a distance of 7 meters from A, then the original height of the pole is:

The correct option is B
49 m

The pole makes 90 degrees with the ground.
Applying Pythagoras theorem, Length CB, 𝑥 = 72+242=625=25m
Height of the pole AB = AC + CB = 24 + 25 = 49 m
So, the answer is option (b).


खंभा जमीन के साथ 90 डिग्री का कोण बनाता है। पाइथागोरस प्रमेय को लागू करने पर,
