The correct option is A 4500

Let the initial amount be 100. He loses $20\%$ i.e., he is left with $80(100-20)$.He spends $50\%$ of the remaining i.e., 40.
Then he is left with $40(80-40=40)$.
But in actual case he is left with 1800.
Hence the initial amount he had $=\frac{100\times \times 1800}{40}=4500$

Alternate solution
After spending $50\%$ he has 1800, so money he had before spending $50\%$ is $=\frac{1800}{0.5}=3600$

After spending $20\%$ he has 3600, so money he had before spending $20\%$ is $=\frac{1800}{0.8}=4500$
