Question 07.2 .
Suppose 2 kg of sugar contains 9×106 crystals. How many sugar crystals are there in 1.2 kg of sugar?
Let the number of sugar crystals in 1.2 kg of sugar be be x.
Weight of sugar (in kg)21.2No.of crystals9×106x
Here weight of sugar and number of crystals are in direct proportion.
∴ 29×106=1.2x⇒ x×2=1.2×9×106⇒ x=1.2×9×1062= 0.6×9×106=5.4×106
Hence, the number of sugar crystals are 5.4×106
