Fig. shows a man with a parachute. Name the force which is responsible for his downward motion. Will he come down with the same speed without the parachute?

The force responsible for the man to come down is the gravitational force which acts downwards.

With the parachute, the resistance offered by the air in the upward direction is much more compared to the case in which there is no parachute. Hence, in this case where there is no parachute, the mans comes down much faster as compared to the case where there is a parachute.
