Winnowing is the method to separate the husk from the seeds. In the process of Winnowing, the farmer holds the mixture in a tray and stands on a platform. He slowly drops the mixture of seed and husk on the ground. With the help of wind, the lighter husk particles blow away and the heavier seeds fall just below the tray getting separated from the mixture.
