Let the two numbers be 5x and 3x.
According to question, 5x – 3x = 18
$\Rightarrow 2x=18\Rightarrow \frac{2x}{2}=\frac{18}{2}$ [Dividing both sides by z]
$\Rightarrow x=9$
Hence, first number =$5\times 9=45$ and second number = $3\times 9=27$.
