Solution

The correct option is B ₹18
CP of one pencil = ₹5
CP of 12 pencils = 12 x ₹5 = ₹60

Total SP of 6 pencils at ₹4 per pencil
= 6 x ₹4 = ₹24

Remaining number of pencils = 12 - 6 = 6

Total SP of 6 pencils at ₹3 per pencil
= 6 x ₹3 = ₹18

Total SP of dozen pencils = ₹24 + ₹18 = ₹42

Since SP < CP, we have a loss.

Loss = CP - SP = ₹60 - ₹42 = ₹18
