New ratio of fares = 1st class : 2nd class : 3rd class = $=8\times \frac{5}{6}:6\times \frac{11}{12}:3\times 1=\frac{20}{3}:\frac{11}{2}:3=\frac{20}{3}\times 6:\frac{11}{2}\times 6:3\times 6=40:33:18$
Ratio of passengers = 9 : 12 : 26 $\therefore$ Ratio of amounts collected
= 40 x 9 : 33 x 12 : 18 x 26 = 360 : 396 : 468
= 90 : 99 : 117 $\therefore$ Amount collected from 1st class fares $=\frac{90}{306}\times Rs.1088=Rs.320$
