Rain water which falls in a rectangular surface of 6m×4m in being transferred into a cylindrical vessel of internal radius 20 cm. What will be the height of water in the cylindrical vessel of a rainfall of 1 cm has fallen?

Here, As the volume of water will remain conserved whether in rectangular tank or cylindrical vessel.
So, Let the height of water in cylindrical vessel be h metre.
Volume of cylinder=π r2h
Volume of rectangular tank=Surface Area × Height
Applying conservation of volume:
6×4×1100=π(20100)2h

h=6π 1.91m
