Sales tax $= 8 %$
Then $S . P = 540 + 8 %$ of $540$
$\Rightarrow$ S.P. $= 540 + \frac{8}{100} \times 540$
$\Rightarrow$ S.P. $= 540 + 43.20 = 583.20 =$ Rs. $583$
