Question

Rajiv has 24 mangoes. He has to pack them into boxes and each box can have only 5 mangoes. So, the number of mangoes remain unpacked is .
  1. 5
  2. 3
  3. 4
  4. 2

Solution

The correct option is C 4
Rajiv has 24 Mangoes.
Rajiv packed 5 mangoes in the first box.
The remaining mangoes =245=19.

Now, Rajiv packed the second box by taking 5 mangoes.
So, the remaining mangoes =195=14

Again, Rajiv took 5 mangoes and packed the third box.
So, the remaining mangoes =145=9

Finally, Rajiv took 5 mangoes and packed the fourth box.
Now, the remaining mangoes =95=4

This time it is not sufficient to pack another box.
So, the number of mangoes remained unpacked is 4.
