In a series connection, the appliances are connected in series with each other. They are dependent on each other and if one of them is out of order then none of them will work.
In a parallel connection, the appliances are parallel to each other. They are independent and they work even if one or some of the appliances connected parallelly are out of order.
As one bulb in Ram’s circuit is glowing but in Shyam’s circuit, none of the bulbs is glowing. Therefore, we can say that Ram has connected the bulbs in parallel and Shyam has connected the bulbs in series.
