Ram has 5 times as many two-rupee coins as he has Ten-rupee coins. If he has in all a sum of Rs. 100, how many coins of each denomination does he have?$\left[3Marks\right]$

Let the number of Ten-rupee coins that Ram has be x. Then the number of two-rupee coins he has is 5x.

The amount Ram has:

(i) from 10 rupee coins, $10\times x=10x$

(ii) from 2 rupee coins, $2\times 5x=10x$$\left[1Mark\right]$

Hence the total money he has, $=20x$

$20x=100$

x = 5$\left[1Mark\right]$

Thus, number of Ten-rupee coins $=x=5$

and number of two-rupee coins $=5\times 5=25$

Total money
$=(5\times 10)+(25\times 2)=Rs.100$$\left[1Mark\right]$
