let fifty paise coins are $x$ and twenty five paise coins are $y$

$y=2x$ (given twenty five paise coins are twice of fifty paise coins)

total he has rs. $27$

$0.5\times x+0.25\times y=27$

putting $y=2x$

$0.5x+0.25\times 2x=27$

$x=27$

$y=2x=2\times 27=54$
