Ravi purchases 5 kg 400 g rice, 2 kg 20 g sugar and 10 kg 850 g flour. Find the total weight of his purchases.

We know that 1000 g = 1 kg

$\therefore 1g=\frac{1}{1000}kg$

$5kg400g=5kg+400g=5kg+1g\times 400=5kg+\frac{1}{1000}kg\times 400=5.4kg$

$2kg20g=2kg+20g=2kg+1g\times 20=2kg+\frac{1}{1000}kg\times 20=2.020kg$

$10kg850g=10kg+850g=10kg+1g\times 850=10kg+\frac{1}{1000}kg\times 850=10.850kg$

Weight of Rice = 5 kg 400 g = 5.400 kg
Weight of Sugar = 2 kg 20 g = 2.020 kg
Weight of Flour = 10 kg 850 g = 10.850 kg
