Question

Ravi visited a blood donation camp in a village. In spite of a syringe being available in the camp, he purchased a new syringe from a chemist. There he saw the doctor sterilising the syringe before it is being administered to other people. In the camp, he also came to know that he is a universal donor.
He took that precaution against infectious diseases. Identify them.

  1. The HIV virus which leads to AIDS is transmitted generally through body fluids by unprotected sexual contact, blood transfusions, contaminated needles, etc.
  2. The best way to avoid HIV infection is to use a new (sterile) needle and syringe each and every time of injection.

Thus, Ravi took precaution against AIDS.
