These Golgi cisternae are arranged concentrically near the nucleus. It has two distinct faces i.e.convex cis region or forming face and the concave trans region or the maturing face. Both the cis and trans faces of the Golgi apparatus are entirely different from each other but are interconnected.

Endoplasmic reticulum is continuous with the outer membrane of the nucleus.

Polymerisation of amino acids occur in cytosol and on the rough endoplasmic reticulum.
