Solution

The correct option is A A - F, B - F, C - F and D - T
Animal breeding is the practice of producing improved breeds of domesticated animals by improving their genotypes through selective mating. It includes inbreeding and outbreeding.

Inbreeding involves mating of closely related individuals of the same breed.

Out-breeding is the practice of breeding unrelated animals. It is of three types, out-crossing, cross-breeding and interspecific hybridisation. Hence statements A and B are false.

Out-crossing is the practice of mating of animals within the same breed which do not have common ancestors on either side of their pedigree upto 4-6 generations. The offspring of such a cross is called outcross. So statement C is false.

Out-crossing is the best breeding method for animals that are average in productivity (milk production), growth rate (meat production) etc., because it helps in overcoming the inbreeding depression (loss of fertility and productivity due to continuous inbreeding). Hence statement D is true.
