Question

Represent the process of anaerobic respiration that takes place in yeast in word equation?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,
Yeast is the fungus and it can undergo both aerobic and anaerobic respiration. Anaerobic respiration is yeast is also called fermentation. In this firstly glucose is converted into pyruvate by the process of glycolysis, In this process, 2 ATP is released. now this pyruvate acid is converted into the ethanol by the process of anaerobic respiration called fermentation ad released carbon dioxide. Therefore the product of anaerobic respiration is carbon dioxide, ATP and ethanol in the yeast.
Equation is -: C6H12O6 → 2C2H5OH + 2CO2 + 2 ATP
