At first, we convert the given decimals to like decimals as $3.50, 2.75, a n d 15.00$
Writing these decimals in a column form by aligning decimal points, we get
$3.50 + 2.75___6.25$
Weight of potato and onion $= (3.5 k g + 2.75 k g) = 6.25 k g$
Weight of tomatoes $=$ Total weight of vegetables $-$ Weight of potato and onion
$= 15.00 k g - 6.25 k g (S i n c e 15 k g = 15.00 k g)$
Writing these decimals in a column form by aligning decimal points, we get
$15.00 - 6.25_8.75_____$
Therefore, weight of tomatoes is $8.75 k g$
