  1. They are made by winding the wires of alloys, viz, manganin, constantan, nichrome, etc.
  2. Their resistivities are relatively insensitive to temperature.
  3. Their resistance is in the range of a fraction of an ohm to a few hundred ohms.

Hence, they are generally made of manganin, constantan, nichrome, etc.
