Reaction of Copper sulphate with Ammonium hydroxide:

  • When Copper sulphate (CuSO4 ) reacts with Ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH) solution, it forms Copper hydroxide ppt (Cu(OH)2 which is pale blue in color.
  • When excess Ammonium hydroxide solutions are added, it converts into [Cu(NH3)4]SO4 a deep blue solution.
