Sameer bought 1600 bananas at Rs 3.75 a dozen. He sold 900 of them at 2 for Rs 1 and the remaining at 5 for Rs 2. Find his gain or loss per cent.

cost for which sameer bought 1600 bananas
=160012=3.75=16×37512=Rs500
He sold 900 bananas at Rs 1 for two bananas
Amount to which he sold 900 bananas =9002×1
Rs=450
The remaining 700 are sold at Rs 2 for five
Amount to which be sold 700 bananas =7005.2
Rs=280
Gain =(soldcostActualcostActualcost)×100
=(450+280500500)×100=2305=46 %
