Assume the age of Sarita to be S and the age of her mother to be M.
M = 45 ……….. .(1)
After 5 years,
M + S = 3 (5 + 5) ……….. (2)
From (1) and (2)
45 + 5 = 35 + 15
= 45 – 35
= 15 – 5
S = 10
M = 45 = 4 × 10 = 40
The mother’s age is 40 years and Sarita’s age is 10 years.
