The ovary consists of the following parts
Visceral peritoneum - Ovary is covered by visceral peritoneum.
Germinal epithelium - it is a layer of cubical epithelium beneath the visceral peritoneum.
Tunica albuginea - It is a layer of connective tissue.
Stroma - It's dense outer layer is termed as cortex and a less dense inner portion is termed as medulla. In the cortex, numerous ovarian follicles or graffian follicle are present in different stages of development.
